«Afrum (White)» is one of the famous artworks of artist James Turrell. In it, light creates the illusion of three-dimensional space. The installation is a rectangular empty room with white walls and bright light squares in the center.
The light penetrates through the holes in the walls, creating the effect of a three-dimensional object. This play of color and shadow demonstrates how the perception of space is altered by light. The viewer is given the illusion of depth and form, although the form does not exist.
The «Ganzfeld» series are James Turrell's works in which unique visual sensations are created through air effects. There is a complete disappearance of boundaries between man and space. «Ganzfeld» represents rooms flooded with homogeneous light, in which the sense of orientation is lost.

Each person has an experience that makes it difficult to perceive the environment. There is an absorption into a world where the boundaries between body, space, and light are erased. Turrell plays with the intensity of light and its distribution. This creates an effect of vastness and timelessness.
