In Lena Becerra's installation, Ex0phycology, hybrid creatures explore the development of various worlds and relationships beyond human perception, influencing our society and shaping collective memory. Lena combines scientific research with hybrid bodies, examining unusual stages of matter in growth and decay. Connected by artificial veins through which liquid flows, as if belonging to a post-organic nature, these creatures evoke strange and contradictory feelings in us. The archive of these creatures blurs the boundaries between human and non-human, technology, sexuality, organic and synthetic matter, creating new connections and meanings for imagining the future. The concept of the archive of the future in the installation blurs conventional perceptions of time: past, present, and future intertwine. The archive organizes information in an unusual way, offering a new perspective on the relationship between these temporal periods. At the core of this idea lies an understanding of the connection between art and time. Unlike traditional archives, Ex0phycology challenges linear perceptions of time and explores cycles of matter, preserving not only what has been but also what could be. The Ex0phycology installation creates an important space for creative exploration and critical reflection. It is not just a repository of artworks but a dynamic space for dialogue, experiments, and new ideas, helping to contemplate new ways of interacting with the unknown.
