Ivan Sukovic earned his Ph.D. from the University of Arts in Belgrade in 2019, specializing in Multimedia Art. With a rich educational background that includes a Master of Arts degree in Digital Art & New Media and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature, he has developed a unique artistic voice.
From 2011 to 2021, Sukovic held several solo exhibitions and showcased his work in group exhibitions across Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and the Balkan region. Notably, he represented Montenegro at the 59th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale in 2022 with his project, "The Art of Holding Hands / as we break through the sedimentary cloud." He has furthered his education through various international programs, including the International School at the University of Oslo and the Takt Artist Residency in Berlin.
His artistic practice centers on analyzing past events and their significance, using archival materials to explore memories and their associations. Ivan assembles fragments of imprecise images, prompting contemplation on the role of memory in the creative process and the temporality of images.
