Karla Paredes is an innovative artist born in Lima, Peru, in 1975 and currently resides in Essen, Germany. Karla's artistic practice seamlessly blends sculpture, painting, video, and collected objects to create immersive installations that engage with the spaces they inhabit. Her work explores the delicate boundary between the real and the imaginary, delving into emotional states of intuition and the subtle, affective relationships between all components of our world.
Karla focuses on the sensorial qualities of her own body, as a means to investigate the interactive energy between bodies and the transformative potential that arises within these connections. This unique approach invites viewers to experience her installations on a deeply personal level.
