Reiner Heidorn is one of the selected artists for the upcoming DOM Art Residence in collaboration with the cultural association Artists Residencies as part of the fourth edition of ExtrArtis @extrartis in August 2025 in Sorrento, Italy.
- Based in Weilheim, Bavaria, Reiner is a painter whose monumental, mostly monochrome canvases explore the dissolving boundaries between human beings and the natural world. His signature technique - Dissolutio, or “disappearance”—translates an emotional and philosophical urge to merge with nature into intricate, meditative compositions.
- Working with dense layers of microscopic detail, flowing shades of green and blue gradually transform into imagined landscapes - lakes, forests, entire ecosystems - immersing the viewer in organic worlds that evoke both beauty and impermanence.
- Reiner’s work is deeply embedded in contemporary ecological discourse, reflecting on themes of climate change, environmental loss, and human estrangement from the natural world. His paintings have been exhibited internationally, with shows in Brazil, Dubai, the United States, and across Europe.
