In her new series of works, Leonia, the artist explores mysterious artifacts and samples that resemble futuristic relics. Yuhanxiao offers viewers an intriguing perspective on speculative archaeology, where organic and mechanical forms intertwine. The installation creates a sense that the objects were found in a distant future or an alternative reality. Yuhanxiao does not provide definitive explanations; instead, she offers fragments of a forgotten culture where familiar forms become enigmatic symbols. In her works, she addresses themes of aging and transformation, raising important questions about what legacy humanity will leave behind and what future generations may inherit from our time.
