By referencing vintage photographs, themes related to temporality are explored in my art. The sourced photos are black and white, suggesting a history of days that have passed. In my paintings, I have added a fluorescent underpainting and color, creating tension between past and present. Passage of time is examined in these moments.
These multi-generational paintings are a collective journey through life. My art addresses and queries the cyclical nature of societal norms. Surveying recurring themes present throughout generations of photographs informs my work. These brief, seemingly heartening moments in time— photo-worthy joys, rites of passage, and simple contentment cumulatively represent an epoch.

The couple in the garden are representative of our temporary yet infinite time on earth. Some of my latest works include patterns and foliage enveloping the figures, like peeling wallpaper, leaving a record of those who were once there.
